WoW - New content and my adieu

Written by: Firedorn Category: Gaming

The Gods of Zul’AmanIt seems like the gnomes at Blizzard have once again packed together a bunch of features and disguised it as yet another patch. These are probably exciting times for many of Azeroth’s denizens, but alas, I have had my fill, once again, of World of Warcraft. The tedium which is end game has started to wear out my patience. I know for a fact that if I did have more time to give to it, I probably would. But the fact remains that with the amount of time I do have to give to this game, I will get nowhere…and fast.

I have for the moment, cancelled my account. When the expansion comes out though, I will probably flock over (like sheep) to the local EB Games and get my collector’s edition copy. Hopefully, I’ll be able toget my hands on one… this will probably be able to provide me with some sort of fake, digital, useless gratification and waste my time and money once again, as I grace the Destromath server with my presence and lay waste to as many Horde groups as I can get my fist through.

But, until then, I will continue to harbor contempt against Blizzard, for providing end-game content not for the faint of heart. I have run through parts of Karazhan a few times and I can say that it was great fun. Especially when you roll with a well oiled machine like the Order of Laibach. If we can get a group together, we can run through it with the precision and grace of what seems to be a team that’s been working together for years. But that is something rare for me to be a part of. Life’s ups and downs requires me to be flexible in my personal time, so the time I do have for leisure is usually really late at night. A time where either everyone’s asleep or already well into the raid. Much will probably be the same for the new 10 man raid; Zul’Aman. So that leaves me with the reputation grind…

If Blizzard does the same thing they did to the original content when they release Burning Crusade, then chances are whatever reputation I DO have when Lich King comes out will be completely and utterly useless. Yay! Let’s put some more time into that…

So, I will for the time being let the time run out on my subscription (which ends in January). If in the mean time, my fellow guildies call me into a raid, then I may join them…but I hate to take away spoils of war from someone who can have better use of it than me. Only time will tell what life holds for me in the weeks to come… the holidays, a new baby, my daughter’s surgery, work… priorities, priorities, priorities. If anyone needs me, I shall be tending to my alter-ego in Middle-Earth when I get a chance to; a lifetime subsciption makes me want to make it worth the investment and hurts less when the monthly subscription payment doesn’t get processed. The lore and community there will keep me busy for a while to come and hopefully, I can keep the Order of Laibach alive there.

Time to put some effort into recruiting…

Thanks,

Firedorn
