Dawntide Open Beta starts today June 04, 2010
Homepage:http://www.dawntide.net/
In the last year there was been a trend to move back to open worlds and skill based character progression, much like Ultima Online. Dawntide is a small game in the sea of many attempting to find a niche in the saturated MMO market.
Dawntide is being created by WAI or Working as Intended. Dawntide is a fantasy game with humans and lizards are fighting for control of the map. They are both trapped in this world by an impassable mountain called Cieve.
The game is meant to be an open sandbox world where anything can happen. There are plans for factions and territory conquest. The hope is that societies will spring up to build cities and governments to control the populace within the game.
Since this is a quick post please visit the website for more details about the game. I hope to follow this up with more details after a few days of playing in the open beta.

Star Wars : The Old Republic
http://www.swtor.com/news/article/20090313_002
Here’s a new video, delving into the studio’s direction in story telling. It seems like this story centric MMOG is making things quite different.
I for one am really excited about this title, based on 2 things alone: Star Wards and Bioware; two names that are synonymous to “awesome” in my books. My biases aside, I am glad that someone is actually putting a strong emphasis on a story line, especially YOUR storyline in a MMOG. It seems like most other MMOGs provide a basic story (sometimes a very GOOD story), but makes it seem really cookie-cutter. It seems like you don’t really make a difference in the story.
It remains to be seen how well the game translates what the video presenters are saying. A lot of developpers have said that their game will do one thing or another, then when the game comes out…it’s not quite as they described it. Alas, it is too far from release to confirm to 100% how things will develop. Closed beta feedback might change a lot of things too….
Ugh! I hope it stays as good as they’re describing it.

Global Agenda
Hey folks! Global Agenda is a game I’m following more and more due to the fact that it’s a MMOG in a sci-fi setting, with big guns and stuff blowing up and just plain, all out PvP. Takes me back to my PlanetSide days…
Anyways, moving on. This game looks very interesting and I would love to garner some interest from my peers and guildmates. Please do not hesitate to go check out the game at their website (www.globalagendagame.com) and if you wish to sign up for beta, let me know. I can supply you with a referral code. From what I understand, if I use up my referral codes, it just shows our interest as a group of close individuals, thereby increasing our odds of getting in. Please PM/EMail me if you want a referral code and we’ll discuss further.
Until then, may the internet continue to rob you of your time as you realize you just spent too much time on Facebook…

DarkFall Online
Now who the hell decided that they could release a game like this? When is it ok to release a game and throttle the distribution as they are doing? I want to play it! I don’t want to wait in line @ 2PM daily on the internet to see if my “BUY NOW” button click gets registered on time.
Never in my life have I witnessed anything so absurd. I know they want to ensure quality service and blah blah blah! But they had over 8 years to develop the game! Could they not have come up with a better server by that time? Or maybe a better cluster of servers. Or maybe an addtional server? Call me crazy but last I checked, getting a new server wasn’t the most expensive thing in the world, especially since you’d be outsourcing that to a MMOG server service provider.
Anywho, I might be able to do something one day. Like borrow a friend’s account…if they can get a copy of it…

WAR is coming!
Mythic Entertainment | Warhammer Online The countdown has officially begun. Mark your calendars! September 18th is the Day of Reckoning.
All I can say is “w00t”!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. Not for a lack of want, but more of time. You see, a lot has happened since the release of Age of Conan. Our guild has moved forward on many fronts, especially as it comes to planning an expansion into the world of Hyboria and that of Warhammer.
Now the time for WAR is fast approaching, as well as the expansions for WoW and LOTRO. Let the good times roll! Now THIS is time well wasted.

AoC PvP Weekend
Gamespot.com hosted an Age of Conan : Hyborian Adventures PvP weekend, where 20,000 lucky Gamespot.com members were given a weekend key to access the PvP beta of the long awaited and highly anticipated MMO from the folks at Funcom (Anarchy Online). The event featured small PvE part (5 levels) to familiarize yourself with the game and its interface and then an instant boost to level 20, where PvP mini-games were available for all to enjoy and test. As you can all attest, I am not breaking any NDA here. Read more

Trekkies Rejoice
Seems like I’ve been out of the loop and that Star Trek Online might have a new home at (rumored) Cryptic Studios. The once dead home page of Star Trek Online now has the words “COMING SOON” at the bottom of the page. Sounds like there is still hope for trekkies world-wide.
Cryptic Studios is best known for their work on City of Heroes/Villains, which is now wholly owned by NCSoft. They are currently working on a new similar title, Champions Online.

MMO Network – The now
MMO Network has been at a standstill for a while now. Seems like a few other things have been sucking up my time, mostly work and the birth of my 3rd child. However, it has not stopped me from still wanting to work on this project. I know, dear reader, that you have been waiting, alone, for quite some time to see what new developments might arise in the start of the new year. As the 1st quarter has closed, there has been officially NO WORK done whatsoever. Do not despair, faithful one, for I have a plan. All I need is a start date…stay tuned.
Regards,
Firedorn

Warhammer Online :: Reckoning the delay
Well, it seems like the folks @ Mythic have decided to delay their upcoming MMO Warhammer Online to make sure the game is more polished for release. I, for one, am happy with the decision that Mythic has made and appreciate the fact that it is a tough decision to make.
